Personalized Multi-Day Fishing Charters in Alaska

Your Alaska Adventure Awaits

Fishing and Touring

Our 58' Hatteras will accommodate 2 to 6 guests on multi-day sightseeing tours and fishing charters in Alaska, a natural paradise in the Southeast Panhandle. You can spend your days fishing for salmon, halibut or rockfish, viewing wildlife or just relaxing and enjoying a scenic cruise and taking pictures;  you will spend your nights anchored in different bays, coves or inlets with ever-changing scenery. The Endurance II allows you to travel in luxury with private sleeping quarters and all the comforts of home while you experience the best of Alaska up close and personal, and have the adventure of a lifetime while doing so!!

Wildlife Viewing

Wildlife viewing in Alaska is never the same - we might see anything from close up bubble net humpback whales to the distant spout of a cruising lone whale.  Sometimes we see Orcas (killer whales).  We almost always sea lions, seals, eagles and other sea birds.  If we are lucky we will sea otters or bears.  And of course we will see glaciers, waterfalls, light houses, and amzing scenery.

Personalized Itinerary

We  will customize your cruise to fit your schedule and vacation goals - the length of your trip determines what we can do.  Besides fishing and wildlife viewing, you may want to set crab and shrimp pots, kayak along the shoreline, go for a walk on shore and explore streams, waterfalls, hot springs or historic sites, or visit a small town along the way.  We might head south down Gastineau Channel, head out past Point Retreat and explore Lynn Canal, or fish Homeshore and the outer coast.

What to Expect

Captain and Crew

Captain Jerry Burnett and First Mate/Cook/Deck Hand Barbara Burnett first came to Alaska in 1981 when Barbara was offered a job as an itinerant School Psychologist.  The original intent was to stay for one school year, but then the fish started biting and by the time the bite was over, another school year had started.  Even though both Barbara and Jerry have changed jobs several times since they first moved to Juneau, their love of adventure, the water and fishing has not changed.  They have owned a number of boats over the years and have explored much of the shorelines and many of the communities, harbors, bays and fishing holes in the Southeast Alaska waters.   Jerry has had his U.S. Coast Guard captain's license since 1991, and both have long held the dream of sharing their love of Southeast Alaska with folks from "outside" after they both retired.  The Endurance II came on the market, and the rest is history.

Both Jerry and Barbara are excited about the opportunity to show off Alaska to you and to help you catch fish and see some amazing sites in the process!

What Should You Bring?

On a sunny day, Southeast Alaska is the most beautiful place on earth.  But - there is a reason it is so green up here: we are located in a maritime rain forest, and it rains a lot!  Dress casually with plenty of layers, and bring warm clothes that repel water.  We have extra rain gear on board, but bring your own to make sure you have the right size.  Gloves, hats and fleece vests or jackets are great if you are not used to our cooler temperatures.  We recommend rubber boots or water repellent shoes on deck and tennis shoes or slippers indoors.  It's not always cold and wet up here, though, so don't forget to bring some warm weather clothing as well and hope for sunshine!  You might want to bring a swimming suit in case you really want to jump in the water, but you won't need one if you go soak in the Tenakee Hot Springs (clothing is not allowed there!).  And don't forget your camera, sunscreen and toiletries (we provide shower get, shampoo, hair dryers and bug spray).

Basic Costs

Price:  $550 per person per day for 3 or more guests; $825 per person per day for 2 guests.

Sleeping quarters are ideal for 4 guests, but accommodations may be made for larger groups.

We will customize your trip to fit your schedule and vacation goals, and welcome 3 to 7 day trips.

Depending on the length of your trip, we will depart from either Auke Bay or downtown Juneau. The length of your trip and preferences for what to see and do will determine our route and activities.

For example, if the weather and waters cooperate, we can go salmon fishing off the outer coast near Elfin Cove.

If you are brave hearted, we can stop in Hoonah on a cruise ship day and you can experience the Icy Strait Point mile long zip line.

Or how about soaking in the Tenakee Springs hot springs?  We can do that (but be warned - they do not allow clothing once inside the bathhouse).

Tell us what you want to see and do, and how long you want your trip to be, and we will plan a schedule that will work.

And -  breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, soft drinks and bottled water are provided each day so you will not go hungry.

We require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation upon confirmation of your trip.  The remainder is due 30 days prior to departure.  Prices do not include round-trip airfare, hotel/ground expenses, fishing licenses, on-shore storage or shipment of your fish boxes, and gratuities.

To make a reservation, submit your request online or call or email us; we will contact you to confirm and arrange payment.  We prefer checks or cash.

What Happens With The Fish?

We promote catch and release, but we will have a 50 lb fish box on board for each guest so we can fillet, vacuum pack and freeze your catch for your departure home.  We also have a charter halibut permit, so you are allowed to fish for and keep these large flat fish (but we do not keep the really big halibut as these are the brood stock that replenish the fisheries).  We provide all fishing gear, tackle and bait.

Of course, some of the fresh fish is prepared in a variety of delicious ways for your meals on board. t it.

How To Get Here

Most guests fly on Alaska Airlines through Seattle on one of the many daily flights, though some flights come through Anchorage.  You should arrive in Juneau the day before our first day on the water to accommodate the airline schedules, and plan to spend your first night at a hotel.  Shuttle pickup and drop off can be arranged through your hotel.  Arrangements may be made for us to pick up at hotels if necessary.

Fishing Licenses

Fishing licenses can be purchased in advance at https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/Store/.  You may purchase non-resident sport fishing licenses for 1, 3, 7 or 14 days; you will want to also purchase a King salmon stamp.

You must have a shrimp permit if you want to drop the shrimp pots in the evenings.  You may acquire this free Southeast Shrimp Sport Permit at https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/Store/

Alcohol

You are encouraged to purchase your beverages of choice prior to arriving at the boat as we do not provide alcoholic beverages and there are very few places to purchase alcohol once we leave the dock.

Refund Policy

We will not issue refunds if you cancel, but we will make every effort to reschedule at a time that is convenient for you.  We  recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance (e.g AIG, www.travelguard.com).
